Great book for learning about the country and having fun at the same time. On The Edge meant traveling the states that are on the edges of the US. The travel itinerary was so detailed that I plan to follow the same route when my wife and I start full-timing in a couple of years. Lots of great advice for seeing the country. Note that she wrote the book ten years after she took the trip and some of the technology referenced was amusing. Remember modems and dial-up and calling cards and 25 cent per minute cell phones? Overall a great job and a fun read.Product details

Travels with Charlie Brown A Woman Odyssey on the Edge eBook Judith Finn Pearson Reviews
This book is a bit long, but that is necessary to cover all of the author's journey around the country. As a single female, she travels in an older model Provan Tiger, a VERY small motorhome. She traveled at a time when few single females traveled alone anywhere to such an extent, especially to unfamiliar areas of the country.
Do not look for an action-packed drama with this book. Instead, it is a sort of journal of each day, detailing her activities and interesting information about the places she visits. I have the paperback version, which is marked up in so many places where I've underlined travel tips, places I want to visit, great attitude quotes to remember, living small tips, etc. This book, and other correspondence with the author has been a big inspiration to me as I countdown to my own similar journey, also in a Tiger, just a few short months from now. YOU ROCK, Judy!
