"A sweet, steamy romance that will leave you fully satisfied" ~ Ana, Goodreads
My life has turned out to be such a cliché. And not in a good way.
It's not exactly Sixteen and Pregnant, but at eighteen my only advantage is a high school diploma. And if that's not enough, the father--and I use that term loosely--couldn't have hightailed it out of my life fast enough.
I thought I really knew him. Unfortunately, my boyfriend of three years transformed from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde once he realized his carefree, childless days would be coming to an end.
I'm over him now though. The real love of my life is chubby, has more gum than teeth, and stands a little over two feet tall. She may not have been planned, but I've never regretted having her. She is the center of my world.
A world that's turned upside down when my ex returns ready to earn the love and trust of the child he abandoned before birth.
Letting him into my daughter's life is one thing but letting him back into mine isn't going to happen. Because the biggest mistake of my life has a name, and that name is Mitchell Aaron Kingsley.
And he's one mistake I don't ever intend to make again.

I enjoyed this book, finished it in one day, but glad I read the prequel first. 'Trapped' picks up about seven months where the Prequel ended. I went into this with a bias toward Mitch... and yes, Josh too, and that bias was not a good one. Mitch finally sees the error of his ways and comes back home to Georgia to try to pick up the pieces with the daughter he's never seen. It certainly is not a cake walk for him but, IMO, he never saw the raw hurt, pain and damage he caused.Paige has matured A LOT in 'Trapped'. I guess she had too. Being a single mother isn't easy. She has to earn a living, continue with her own education and be a good mother too.
Josh, MItch's best friend, realizes the role he played in tearing Mitch and Paige apart and tries to make amends. But once something is broken, trying to glue it back together is difficult... there always will be at least a hairline crack showing. And, Paige was even unaware of Josh's involvement in this whole sordid affair, until he gets around to apologizing.
I never understood why so much of Erin and Josh's trysts were apart of this book. I would preferred to see more of Mitch and his finding things out about what all he missed during his abandonment of Paige and baby daughter, Bree. The Mitch I read about in the prequel, The Trap', had it way to easy in this storyline. I did appreciate how Paige wanted Bree to know and have a relationship with Mitch. Love it when she told Mitch she never wanted Bree to know what he did because she never wanted Bree to know she had been unloved. That right there should have brought Mitch down to his knees, knocked the breath of of him or something. No, Paige didn't take his simple 'I'm sorries' and hop back in bed with him saying all is well. But the horrible angst she portrayed in 'The Trap' sure wasn't reciprocated with Mitch in 'Trapped'. Yes, he kept pleading for her forgiveness but I just didn't see the emotional mental strife in Mitch in 'Trapped' as we did with Paige in 'The Trap'. Paige did point out how she made her choices based upon his desires. She realized that was a mistake.... too late though.
Overall, I wanted to see more development of Mitch's character and less intimate, detailed bedroom scenes. I do see where they were needed in a few scenes in the book but not as many as were described... kiss by kiss, lick by lick, you get the picture.

Trapped edition by Beverley Kendall Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I loved the prequel for this story but unfortunately I did not love the book that came after. He didn't grovel or redeem himself in my opinion. He was still a pig. I hated him and instill gave It three stars because of the writing. She knows how to make the words come alive. But in the end I didn't like Paige and I hated Mitch. I still can't call him a hero because he isn't! I wanted him to hurt as much as he hurt her but he didn't. He started the story almost screwing a girl and I don't think he would not have stopped if his 'sister' hadn't stopped by. He was a pig. I don't think he groveled enough and I thought he was a jerk. I was disappointed with Paige for giving in so easily. He never suffered enough for me. Again good writing, great heroine, lovely baby but a sucky male lead. Wish she would have loved Trent! He was a better man and would have been a great Father. Hated Mitch.
They were young and some things I do not understand. It says that in high school, he dated a girl in 10th grade and then for a bit in 12th, but has been with the heroine for 3 years before the year away and he is only 20. So did they break up so he could date another or what??? Anyways, he was making out with another girl when we met him and I swore I would hate him if he had sex with another woman. He did not but he wanted too. I am glad that both were celibate while not together, it makes me believe that they only wanted each other. I did like how he told her that he was going to fight for her but thought the misunderstanding on his part was stupid. He was scared and ran, that is all there is to that! She gave up EVERYTHING for him and he ran at the first opportunity. I saw what was going on with his sister from the beginning and thought that needed more depth.
4 stars
Let me use this review to get on my soap box and preach about the amazingness that is Goodreads. A lot of people talk crap about this website and how it's only haters on there. I disagree. This website has helped me discover so many new authors and books that I would have never heard of before.
Case in point? This book. If I had not seen this 8 word review by a friend, I would not have read this book. I would have no clue this book existed. So thank you Supreet for your short review!!([...])
Anyways, this book is a trope I love, where the girl gets pregnant, the guy leaves her but then comes back wanting forgiveness. I felt this book was very well done, I didn't see either parent making bad decisions once dad came back in the picture, everything that was done was done with the intention for what was best for the child. No keeping the kid from one parent or using her for advantages. Both parents had the child in mind.
It's also so wonderfully angsty!!!! Omg, I ate it up! I do wish Paige had made Mitch work for forgiveness a little bit more, because I am a huge fan of groveling. But honestly the author did a great job with this one. I need more of my book friends to read this author and this book!
